Is this any good?

I have the MSI FX5600, overclocked to 365 core / 630 memory (i'm suprised i can push it that high, to be honest), AGP Voltage at 1.6V, AGP Frequency at 70mhz, Fast Write off, Sideband Addressing on.

Here are my scores with XtremeG 71.20 drivers:

3DMark01 - 12,350
3DMark03 - 3,005
Aquamark - GPU 2,485

I'm not looking to upgrade. I can run all games (HL2, Doom3, Battle Middle Earth, etc..) on full details, 1024x768 rez, except i have to turn off anti-aliasing otherwise Frames drop like mad.

Are those decent scores for an FX5600? Can i push it higher by upping my AGP voltage and frequency, or is that about the limit?

It was better than my 5600, but mine just went "*blip*" after about 3 days of being overclocked to its' max artifact-free speed and I was purchasing a new 6200.

yeah, i should do the finger test for temperature. its an MSI card, and has a heatsink all the way around, and a decent fan on the core, but i'll double-check just to be safe.

what scores do you get with your 6200? their prices are quite good these days.

Those look like pretty good scores for an FX5600. My FX5700LE gets a little lower than that in 01 with a good oc since I only have a socket A Sempron. I get a couple hundred points more in 03, and I got 3321 for graphics in Aquamark. AGP voltage and frequency most likely won't help your scores at all.

thats a sweet oc... are you sure its not a 5600XT or 5600Ultra or something?? mine (Gainward 5600) was a P.O.S... i got like 354//515 off of it (it might be in my sig)... it died on me though...

The 6200 is faster than a 5900 unless the 5900 has been volt modded, liquid cooled and other such extreme things but stock vs stock, non-volt-mod or liquid cooled OC, the 6200 scores a good bit better than the 5900 cards.

it is a decent card, if you can get a big overclock out of it.

i tested it at 380, and no artifcats, but it starts to break up when i set the core to 400.

p.s. to the question if its a real 5600. Yes, its this card: http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=275

The Ultra is faster, but the 5600XT is a cheap dumbed-down version. It performs close to 5200 specs.

that card has a WHOLE different layout than my card... and it actually USES a heatsink ::gasp::... my 5600 had a little aluminum flower with a cheap 40mm fan and gainward called it a heatsink...

thats a sweet overclock

nice job
