Yes, finnaly got my copy of win 2k. But during installation weird things happened. Here's my old setup, 2 partions ide, boot part. is win98 and second is NT, and I have another scsi hdd and a half-dead scsi cdrom. No floppy.
I installed 2k on the win 98 partion. But I kept getting cd read errors. Ok, I copied i386 dir. to my hdd. Ok, now it can't find the files, but they are clearly there. Hmm... for some reason I thought of manually unpacking all the .CA_ files. So I went to dos and did "expand nt5inf.ca_ nt5inf.cat and so on....." Now the installer found the files and and started intstalling. I don't know why I had to do this. Anyone know?
Well after that everything was well, except I had to move my modem to another pci slot for windows to see it. No big deal. That's about it, but I'm puzzled about the manual expanding of the files. It took all nights to install 2k cause of this.
Well it's def worth it, oh the power of NT5, I've been waiting to upgrade nt4 for so long. And now my radeon VE accually can go dual.:D
