I just built the system in my signature and am having some RAM speed problems. This MSI board is known to have problems with RAM. When I set the BIOS to run as DDR400 the system will not go above 12.5x113 (~1375 Mhz). If I lower the RAM speed to DDR333 I can get 12.5x160 (~2000 MHz). These are both at stock settings for voltage and RAM timing. The RAM is no-name with Samsung TTC4 chips (CL2.5). Any ideas? TYIA

run memtest at stock setting and speeds and if you pass it then try giving the ram a little more voltage, try loosening up the timings. maybe its just not good ram

Thank you! Not really sure what you mean by memory timings.

Try switching around the DIMM sockets they are in. Test 1 stick at a time, how many sticks are you using?

Two sticks of the same.
strange problem, possibly a motherboard issue. But even if you can run 12.5x160 at ddr400, you are still not getting DDR400. With that setting you are getting ddr320. I would lower the multiplier and up the frequency. try 10x200 at ddr400. Or even a lower multiplier with x200. I would stay away from using the " .5 " multiplier.

ty. very likely a MB issue. right now all voltages, etc are "automatic"
