I have an Asus A7n8x MB with an amd 2500+ Oc'd to a 3200 on stock cooling.
My problem is this, when I boot the computer with the 9600 pro installed into the agp the computer fails to post and gives three beeps (one long followed by 2 short). Now i know your all saying "thats a video hardware error" right. Funny thing is, is that if I let the computer "warm up" (and im serious about literally warming up) for about 15 to 20 minutes then reset the computer posts fine detects the vid card and continues into XP.

I dont understand, are these components compatible. Im sure they are, but why doesnt this work. Is it a faulty card that requires some specific capacitor to heat up expand and then make a connection or am i way off. Have you guys heard of anything like this??

Should i send the card in to ATi, will they send me back another 9600 pro or a different card. Is the 9600 pro still being manufactured?

Id appreciate any help given.

thanks

What kind of power supply do you have, and what is it putting out? I would also try running at stock speeds and voltage to see if it works then.

Ive tried several psu's none of which worked, right now Its powered by a 450 Watt.

I ve also tried the stock speed on the cpu as well as increasing agp voltage to 1.6. Also played with AGP speed and fastwrites from within the bios. The real kicker though is that the card works fine once its warmed up, but its such a pain waiting 20 minutes to start up a computer. One thing I havent tried is underclocking the card, but why should I have to do that?

Im ready just to give up and send it to rma. Does anyone know what ill get back for it??
