The title says it all, i set all my hdd's to 0 pagefile but yet it still exists somehow. I just got my other 512meg's of ram so i'm set to be completely hdd independent for running programs.
Whats goin on with this?

I would run by support.microsoft.com, without elaborating much more, I can only say that you shouldn't be running without a pagefile at all (it is possible, but not the way you're trying it).
The pagefile as such is simply a means of creating a buffer for windows between disk and ram... the more ram you have, the higher you should actually make your pagefile.
A little studying at support.microsoft.com would help ya out :-)

maybe its saying the 224 megs are the page file but they are actually part of the ram...
just a suggestion.

The page file doesn't have the same performance inpact as in the good old Windows NT days... again, very basically put, its merely a buffer managing what goes in and out of the memory.
People all over the M$ community stil argue what is the best way to handle pagefiles... if you're a performance freak (*cough* isn't that why we are here?), set up two drives in a mirror (yes, raid 1, not striping/raid 0) on their own channels and dump the pagefile there. The pagefile and windows xp / server prefers running the pagefile off a separate ATA / SCSI channel on a mirrored volume.
I did a bit of experimenting with that at work once, two small 9 gb scsi discs for the pagefile alone, and then my OS on one disk.. sure, it gives a boost when handling a lot of applications (pagefile > 512 mb)... but again, one can always argue whether or not its really worth it.
If you REALLY wanna try out running with a ram drive, and having the pagefile displaced to it, I'll see if I can find the article.. I believe it can be done under xp as well.
