Wow, this makes me sick. Not only are the moderators allowing this, they are even participating.
I honestly don't know how to respond to this, all that I can say is if this reflects overclockers.com ideals (which I had gathered was different after reading theForum Guide (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/announcement.php?s=&forumid=9) so many months ago) then this is one place where I will not check out on a daily basis, or for that matter ever again. The respect gained from reading so many intelligent posts and articles from who I thought to be intelligent people has been lost.

I went and checked it out. I agree it is not in the best taste, but it in no way violates the guide lines of overclockers.com.
I am sad that you feel this negates all the good things this forum has to offer, but that is your choice.

Considering recent events there has to be some sensitivity to all sides. I do not see it violating and Oc.com rules. I do feel saddened that you feel it is in bad taste. And have lost respect for Oc.com. I feel that the thread was meant to be funny and not harmful in reason. I would ask that you reconsider your feelings if possible as Oc.com is the top forums on the web for being friendly and open minded to everyone.

i am not only disgusted by this, but also CS, UT, HL, Swat3 and all other shooting games... most SWF files... many AVI, MPEG, and DivX files... and i call for a ban on Blockbuster for the distribution of games and movies with shooting

Yes it is in poor taste to post something like that here. We do have minors that come here and it is our responcibility to keep stuff like this from corrupting them.
But I have to admin, the Slurpy that comes up had me rolling...

No, not really. It is not really a flame, but an expressive opinion. The only one that came close to being mentioned was Mr. B, for it to be a true "flame" it has to single out a person or group and say something bad about them. This does not do that, it says how others made him feel.
I agree a moderator needs to keep an eye on this, but it should be left open so everyone can intelligently express an opinion if they choose.
I think everyone old or young can appreciate that he is responsible for over 6,000 Americans missing, and those of us who weren't wealthy enough to make huge donations, find a little peace in this. This is the the first and only forum I post at, so I'm glad I got a chance to see it and play! Sorry!

I know it's not a true flame, but I'll agree with you about leaving it open for discussion.
However, it's certainly no worse than any 1st person shoot-em-up blood and gore fest.......QIII anyone?

Well,
I was Moderating the morning/afternoon of the Attack, and I spent a good deal of the time editing/deleting posts that had serious racial overtones to them. I sent out many PM's and e-mails that day, in an effort to calm the waters here.
This game, I have no problem with. It does not attack any race or Nationality, but one person, and one person only.
The man is a known terrorist, who has been found guilty beyond doubt of acts against America in the past, and I believe will be found to be behind 9/11 as well (MY opinion).
If it was Bonny and Clyde, or Al Capone behind the counter, would it be more PC?
While I will admit, perhaps this isn't the best thing ever posted here, it, I believe, doesn't violate any Forum policy. The world we live in is not Politically Correct, and this man has definitely proven it.
The only difference between this and some of those games mentioned above, is this one has a character in it with a real life counterpart. He has a name.
His name is Evil.
What truly disgusts you about this game? The fact that it's a violent game? That you are shooting at another "human being"? Or WHO you are shooting at?? Does the realism bother you??
I am sincerely curious. What about it offends you so deeply and personally?
One more question; Do you, in you software collection, have any Role Playing Games of any type? Might and Magic? D&D type stuff? Duke Nukem?? None?

i thought it was awesome. have you ever played wolfenstein. you kill nazis in that game. i'm not politically correct and i dont care to be. we have a lot of free thinking rednecks on this board and we value everyones opinion but we don't want to be told how to live our lives.
