View Full Version : lower I/O = Higher overclock?!

I noticed something weird on my Hercules Kyro II. If I set the I/O voltage to default(3.3) my Kyro II will only do 180 Mhz without Artifacts, but if I go to 3.2 it will do 184 no probs. On the other hand, at 3.5 it will barely do the default 175 Mhz...

Anyone else has experienced something like that?
Or has an explanation for this?

you have a heat problem, when ever anything is given more voltage it gets hotter

The core doesn´t get warm at all, I could run it without HS no probs. But I´m using a lapped blorb with AS II, so that shouldn´t be the problem. Perhaps some other part of the card gets too hot?

might be the ram but i had a problem with my geforce not getting hot, when in took the heatsink off only a corner of it was touching the core, you might want to check

changing the i/o voltage does not affect the core but it does afect the video ram. Your problem sounds like the vram is getting hot.

I did that, but my blorb sits full on the core, and the core is not hot, even without hs..

Yeah maybe, I think i´ll put on some ramsinks and see if this helps... But on the other hand, hercules uses quality ram, which shouldn´t have problem though...
