and lived to type this! :p

My dad let me borrow his $300 multimeter (he's a mechanic), and wanted to see what my rails were really doing. Boy was my software off on my voltage.

Software read:

11.70v - 12v rail
3.28v - 3.3v rail
4.91v- 5v rail

Multimeter:

12.10v - 12v rail
3.37v - 3.3v rail
5.16v - 5v rail

After Adjustments:

12.26v - 12v rail
3.65v - 3.3v rail
5.20v - 5v rail

These were all under Prime95 memory torture test at 100% cpu usage. Reason i am upping my 3.3v rail is because i am getting UTT memory in a few days, so that stuff is voltage hungry to get high 1:1 FSB.

I never thought my software was that far off, but boy was i in for a suprise when i seen that.

To all my fellow OC'rs that have been thinking of doing this, i highly recommend it. It wasn't very difficult on my PSU, i didn't even have to remove it completely from the case!

Oh well just happy that it was so easy :)

You're running that 3.3v rail out of ATX spec... Just keep them as close to thier normal voltages as you can get. Running them higher will only put additional strain on your voltage regulators.

I need to run it that high so i can run my UTT ram at 3.5v to get the max FSB i can get out of it.

SavageBasher he is doing that so when he gets his new memory he can give it up to 3.5v, it's fine.
EDIT: hehe
