Question about Radeon 64 DDR vivo and Win XP , I plan to upgrade today

Anyone running this card on the XP platform. I am running a beta driver for it I believe 7530 version from Pinky's site. Would I be better to go with a supported but older driver to make sure issues do not occur once I upgrade to XP.

I plan to upgrade from Win 98 SE with all the patches. So I plan to install over an os. Have heard from others they have had no probs, and I can not bother to backup and format, do not have the time.

Any feedback is welcomed.

i took your advice, and bought the same card from futureshop. truned out even better than i thought, because not only did they pricematch it with addax....but because it was an open box they gave me an additional $20 off. so i got it for $225CDN:)

anyways, ive only been running it for an hour....so i havent really done any tweaking or anything. i just used the CD driver for now, but its worked just fine in XP so far. ive played UT and Q3 with no problems(looked great too).

are those drivers from pinkys site 98/me? if so you cant use em, XP is an NT system. but i think that when you upgrade, XP will try and install its own drivers anyways. from there, experiment with others.

Geez mayby I gotta return mine and see if a store has an open box and get your price, LOL. We both did very well you especially!!! $225 for that card is awesome!!! Especially when there are all sorts of features still not utilized by the card , but they will be used with newer games coming out. Yeah the driver I am using is for 98/ME but there are is also a driver on Pinky's site that is optimized for NT/2000 , I think it is beta as the one I am using currently, think my current driver is a 7530 beta.

I will do as you, install the cd driver and then upgrade to XP. BTW did you do a clean install or an upgrade. Is your XP the home or corp version, I have corp version and I will try to figure out how I can trim it down a bit once it is installed. Right now XP is installing on my laptop and later I will upgrade my deskjtop too.

All the best keep me posted on how the card is running, and let me know what drivers you upgrade to with XP. I know ATI site has a driver out dated May for the 64 DDR , I believe this is newer than the disco driver and it supports NT.;)

well....after a liitle power supply failure, im running again. although i cant really tell how well my system is doing untill i get my enermax 431w psu. from what i can tell its running fine.

im now using the XP beta drivers for this card from pinky's site......working great so far.

as far as XP....i did a fresh install, in fact ive never done an upgrade. i always fresh install.....in fact, im gonna format and reinstall once i hook my new PSU up. start from scratch. oh....and i have the corp edition, RTM.
