hi all,

Probably this questions have been asked several times as i can recall, however, the answer is very vague or applied to quadro4 instead of Quadro fx series.

My goal is to find a *cheap way to come up an equivalent or more peformance of the real Quadro FX 1100 card (~$600 ouch card) by softmod the NV FX series cards.

I have read many threads on the web about how and what can mod into those Quadro FX series but still not sure which card would be best for my needs.
Here is what i've been looking in :

#1 FX 5700 (LE/Ultra ? not sure the diff when mod) =>> softmod Quadroo FX 1100 . However i seen mixed answers, some say just softmod and other say soldering

#2 those NV 66xx version softmod into FX 1200 or above ?

**soldering is too much for me so i only consider softmod, so if anyone knows good guide or answer on the softmod to Quadro FX series plz share.

thanks,

K

I softmodded my FX5700LE to the Quadro FX 1100 using RivaTuner without problems. I didn't notice much difference in OpernGL apps, but there was some improvement.

are you saying, the softmod wont result the same performance as it was an actual card ? or iam reading wrong here .

Also which card (brand + memory) of 5700LE did you use ?

thanks

Kevin

PS would be awesome if you can go to www.spec.org to run some bench and compare to the actual card results (FX1100).

I used an evga GeForce FX5700LE w/ 256MB of 128 bit memory. I have some Specviewperf 8 results in this thread:

I am not sure how they compare to an actual Quadro FX 1100, and my card was at stock speeds (250 core/400 mem) when I ran it.

you can compare your result here :

http://www.spec.org/gpc/opc.data/vp8/summary.html

Unfortunately they dont have FX1100 but they have FX 540 and FX1400 results. Iam sure the actual FX1100 would somewhere between those 2.

btw, what is your system specs when bench spec8 ?
