:( Just built my first box: pent 4 2gig @ 2.1. Runs pretty well (got 8295 madonion 2001 score). But I am not quite satisfied with the overclocking ability yet: any configuration to get me above 105 fsb gets a "windows protection error when initializing NDIS." Mobo reads FF after booting even with protection error; so no problems detected. motherboard monitor has cpu at 27c and 1.74 volts on the cpu (soft bios set at 1.825: I know there is not a good match between bios setting and actual voltage). This does correspond to bios.

My rig:
pent 4 2gig @2.1 (105fsb)
abit th7 2 raid with 2 ibm 60gig/60gxp 7200rpm ultra ata100/array "0"
win98
gainward g3 245/545
plextor cd-cdrw
pioneer dvd
4 sticks 128 mb rdram pc 800 samsung original
modded lian-li w/ 2 mm intake fans on acrylic panel... 2 80mm fans front intake... 2 80mm fans rear exhaust... 90mm fan blowhole... dual fan 370 watt power.... monitored with digi doc (average temp at all sensors: 72f). So the darn thing is cool.
............ other goodies with rig but would probably not apply to problem. What is the above error. It seems that I should get more OC for my money. Any ideas?

Are you using windows 98 1st edition? If so, you may need to replace the ndis.vxd file in windows/system

It's a design flaw in Windows 98 that shows up if you try to run it on a proc running over 2.1 Ghz. Try searching for the file you need on the net, Microsoft I belive tries to charge you for it if you go through their help for it.
