my GF2 came with a stock fan, and since i run 24/7 that fan is on its last legs.. id like to get one of those blue chipset fans from threaltake or something, but i cant get the fan off the gpu, its like glued on there... any idea's how to get it off? thanks
The heatsink & fan are usually held onto the card with 2 "pushpins" that need to be removed then the heatsink fan.
The standard thermal paste used often has a glue like holding power when dry so you need to pry it off carefully.
I have used a razorblade and keeped working on the corners until it lifted off some people say to put the card in a airtight plastic bag then freeze the card for 1/2hr will help it come off easier.
I replaced my HS on my Herc gts with the blorb.
and after you get the 2 pins out use a credit card or razor, they will work fine.
the orb is an awesome HS "for V cards"
I can't get any temp readings but I'm able to push my GTS to 215/425.
I think thats pretty good for a gts:)
but the card into the antistatic bag and then but it to the freezer for 20 minutes this helps!
also the magnetcard helps you

My Creative Annihilator 2 had a glued on heatsink. Just put it in the antistatic bag and set it in the freezer for a bit. Took it out and carefully pried a butter knife between the GPU and Fan and just started turning it some. Becareful where you put the fan though. You'll start to think the it's not going to come off and then POP it's gone. You can then take a hair dryer on low setting to make sure the card is all dry from condensation.
