Hi, I have read a lot of articles on overclocking , but none say how long an overclocked processer will run at without problems. I have had an 1.33 Gig Athlon overclocked to a minor 1.43 (10X143) which worked great, ran at 46 degrees and was solid as a rock. Aproximately 30 days later the Athlon died . The shop said it was defective and replaced it (I did not tell them I overclocked it). I am now scared too overclock because I do not want to fry my CPU. Does anybody have any success stories about how long they have been overclocking without a problem, or does the CPU not last when overclocked?

:D I have been running an AMD Slot A bird for months. Bird was 900@ 1050mhz with no problems.

I'm guessing that you just had a weak chip. You should be fine with it. I've had mine running for several months without a problem...as have many, many others.

I've been running my 1.33 overclocked to 1.48 since March and my 800 oc'd to 950 since Feb, with no problems. I'd have to agree that you just got a week chip.
