Got a suggestion to get BIOS update 1007 for this M/B - said it would reduce Asus temp reading 6C. Where can I find it? Anyone know what "System Acceleration Mode" is? Could it generate additional heat? I have it enabled.

Newest version of the bios is always good and helps some people with this problem but the temps for the A7A266 are always going to be somewhat inaccurate. The sensor is placed on the back of the motherboard behind the CPU so there's always some issues with airflow and other variables. The only real way to know what your CPU temp actually is is to get a temp sensor like the compunurse and place it right next to the die. You can also try using other temp monitoring programs. Some people claim that solves the problem.

Not sure what the acceleration mode thing is but I would probably leave that alone as it likely isn't related.

Do a search for A7A266 and you'll find a ton of other threads about this problem. It's a good performance board but it has a few design issues.
