I have used 2 of the SkyHawk PowerOne ATX-GM570 watt PSU on some builds for friends. I picked them after reading a couple of reviews and the price was good. ($70 for a 570watt PSU) It was supposed to be ATX12V & EPS12V Compliant. A recent article has proven this incorrect.

After reviewing this article, I called Newegg to get them replaced, no prob!! (replaced with Fortron, $25 price diff. There goes my profit)

The hard part is explaining to a couple of friends who trusted my judgement (not to mention $1000-1500 of their money) to build a PC as good or better than a Dell. I am a little PO'ed, but I should have remembered the old adage
"You get what you pay for"

I thought I would post my experience to warn others of the same mistake.

Well if they are smart, they should see those psu's being replaced as good service. Not poor judgement.

Skyhawk is about the coarsest form of crap there is. In my experience only DEER is worse. They make no attempt to build a good supply, but rather opt to plaster ever-larger numbers on the side of the same old junk.

They are asking you to remove the article.. Are you obligated to do so?

Not at all. and were not going to.

no, he is not obligated to do so. As long as you give an inciteful review or article, and are not threatening a company in any way, but just reviewing their product or service, they can't do anything but complain....

however, a Mod or Admin may feel differently, but that is up to them.

Pretty much sums it up.

Even if a DEER or Skyhawk got a good review, Id need to find a really long poking stick before I could even considered using it.

Well I didnt think so, however I wasn't sure what you guys would do if you felt threatened. I guess they won't be sending you anything more to review in the future. :p

If they are smart the best thing to do is fix the unit to match the specs they advertise and then send us a replacement to test. I try very very hard to be as unbiased as i can. I would be willing to review another PSU from them. If they fixed it then i would report such, if they tried to do the same thing again then i will report that. My goal is to make sure that the community gets the best products at the best value we can. And i never felt threatend by them, my case was rock solid even if the sued me it would be over in an hour and cost me less than 5k in legal fees. They know they have no case thast why im not worried.

Simple we went through all the specifications and looked at the PCB to see if it had any of the required features.
