I just put a nic card in and now windows me dosen't shut down. The screen goes blank but fans don't shut down disable nic card in profile no prob's?

Put same nic in neighbours win98 machine no prob's is this a win me issue dose't seem to be a irq conflict

you're using the ME drivers right? (usually drivers for 9x/ME are the same--same kernel for both)


Did you check the NIC's website for FAQs about it and possible patches?

Did you try it in some other slots? Try spacing your cards every other slot to try to eliminate any IRQ conflicts.
