I read at http://www.ocinside.de/html/workshop/socketa/socketa_resistors.html the following: " Close all L1 bridges if you want to change the VCore and multiplier via BIOS or Jumper. Otherway leave all L1 connections open !!!" ????
Does this mean that I HAVE TO cut open all my L1 bridges to overclock by the L3, L4, & L6 bridges on the cpu (1200 tbird 266) ?
The motherboard I'm using has no jumpers or bios for this. The bridge way is the only way for this MB.

For some reason, I find that hard to believe.

I am pretty sure that you don't need to open the L1 bridges, but all of my processors are 1.0 or lower and they came with the bridges open already.

that does not sound right, if the L1 bridges are cloes there is no reason to cut them to where they are open. That will just make u unable to change the multiplier, unless you do t with L4, L5, L^ bridges, and that is way too much troubel so i dont even wanna explain it. If L1 are connected LEAVE THEM THAT WAY

Without using BIOS you can change voltage and multipliers but you may have to open some or close some depending on what you want. Read this, it is the definitive guide:

I looked at your link and which article are you talking about? I think what they were trying to say is if you aren't going to mess with the vcore or multipliers using the BIOS dont mess with them. If you cut all the L1s you will ruin your CPU.
