My aim spontaneously disconnects and reconnects every 10 minutes or so. Its getting rather annoying. Occasionally it also says "you are typing too fast for the messages to appear in your buddie's box, try sending the messages slower." I only said maybe one thing in the last minute, so obviously I'm not sending the messages too quickly.

At first I thought it was a network problem, but my brother has the exact same version of AIM as I do and he has had no problems at all. I tried reinstalling it and it did nothing. Any ideas?

No problems here. I'm using an older version myself though, along with Ad Hack (awsome btw). Are you losing any other web based programs at the same time?

Yes, I just had my friend over, and he agrees that it is most likely the router (we're having other problems with the internet as well, but those are happening to all of our computers, and aims only crashing on mine.) Its a linksys befsx41.

Hes going to let us borrow his old router and see if that fixes the problem.

try upgrading/downgrading your router's firmware

It's fully updated already. But we ended up doing flushdns in command prompt and that seems to have fixed it.

We're probably getting a new router anyways...

I don't touch my routers' firmware when they're working just fine... It's just asking for trouble. I have a Linksys something and a Netgear MR814v2. I wish that Netgear had stuck with the removable antenna that v1 had... Now I have to mod mine if I want to put an external antenna on the thing :(
