Ok, I finally was able to get into XP recovery mode and run fixboot and fixmbr(seems the boot partitions was bad), I have reinstalled windows XP and everything is working great except for the internet connection. The ASROCK mobo I am using has a built in LAN, but when I open internet explorer it says "you're blocked, contact system administrator" also, no other programs have been able to connect to the internet. One last problem and hopefully I will be all set. Any ideas?
And thanks for the responses, I wouldn't have gotten my new system up and running without online forums.

why didn't you just reformat...

No Microsoft error code will ever say "you're blocked, contact system administrator". It's more than likely you have viruses or spyware, or both. The best idea would to be a full format and re-install.

The problem is, i have a downloaded copy of XP which I was running on my previous computer and I burned it to a CD, but it won't boot. So if I reformat and then the CD won't boot I'm screwed. ANy ideas?
A 'downloaded' copy of XP? I don't think you will get much help here.

I ended up just buying a new retail XP disc, now the new build is running great.

HOnestly, it's posts like this that I enjoy. I did something illegal, and now it doesn't work, and I"m screwed.
