Alright, currently I have a XFX GeForce FX 5600XT.
Got my Athlon 2500+ OCed to a 3200+
Unfortunately, I cannot change the FSB/AGP/PCI divider in my BIOS
So, 200MHz with 1/5 divider means a 80MHz AGP bus.

Right now, everything works fine, but im looking to change my video card and Im thinking about going towards ATI (maybe a 9600xt or a 9800se (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=699287&CatId=880) ). Prices are in CAN$ btw :)

I heard the ATI cards doesnt like high AGP clocks, is this true ? Will an ATI card work with a 80mhz AGP bus ??

If no, Im looking at a GeForce FX 5700 or a GeForce 6600 (non-gt).

Im just not sure how these cards compare with each other. Since I can get all these cards for about the same price, which one would be the best ?

really, DON'T keep your AGP bus that high.. chances are, that if the agp bus is that high, the PCI bus is running 40Mhz...WAY out of spec... if your PCI line is running out of spec, don't be surprised if your harddrives get corrupted

Been at 40mhz for months now. Been doing a lot of file transfers also. Reinstalled everything once or twice, transfered also pretty much evrything on my new hard drive (my 80gb maxtor) and never did I experienced any data corruption, nor instability. I know it is high, but a lot of people told me 40mhz was still alright. Anyway, for now, it is staying at 40mhz :santa:

concerning my initial question, what do u think I should do ?

If you are wanting to upgrade to an FX5700 from a 5600XT, I would not. There isn't that much performance difference, especially if the 5600 is clocked higher than the 5700. My 5700LE starts to mess up when I go over about 75MHz on the AGP bus, and the same for most cards, regardless of brand.
