After my friend has got his hands on this mouse, problems start occuring. Random jumping and random buttons being pressed even when I am not pressing. I caught him "touching" the laser, reset button and on and off button.

I am really ticked off about this. Could be a software problem or do I have to RMA this thing? something I dont really want to do.

Plugged into PS2 port btw.

try using the ps2 port instead of usb. There's been some known issues and sometimes using the ps2 port helps.

haha oops, well, sometimes using the ps2 port has helped some people like me. Mine used to only jump when using middle click or the quick switch button. For some others it didn't help at all. I'm not sure whether your problem is the same as this. The weird part is the buttons clicking part. I would probably RMA it.

Guys I found out the problem. I tried everything you could think off reinstalling software, resetting it, turning it off and on. I think there was something distrubting the signal between the mouse and the reciever so I moved the reciever closer to it for obvious reasons. What could be the thing disturbing the signal so this doesnt happen again?

I have noticed with my wireless logitechs that it can be very clear between the receiver and the mouse and it will start jumping and acting flakey even with no apparent interferance. However, I also notice it gets worse as they loose charge. Any correlation between level of charge and the jumpiness?

Note: I don't have an MX1000, I have 2 substantially weaker models (;

hm... whenever my signal begins to flake (from range) it never does random movements or clicks on me. It would just either respond or not respond. It's possible your transmitter in either the mouse or basestation could be defective.

Make sure you don't put the reciever or the mouse right next to any magnetic fields (crts). The furthur the away, the better. Whenever i'm at lan parties, whenever someone puts a crt next to my base station, my range gets cut off to a few feet and becomes flakey.

I had 2 bars of battery and even when it is one red bar it works fine but then eventually goes out.

aha I dont think it is deffective cause its working perfectly now. Although my crt is next to my base station. How far does the base station have to be from the CRT?
