Tried searching for it but couldn't find anything.
If TCCD is so great, why would they want to discontinue it? Doesn't seem logical to me. And can someone also post a link to the official notice on this matter.
U have to remmeber that 99% of the computers in the world are not overclocked ever. Which means that the highest speed of ram needed is pc 3200. samsung has many products which meet this specification many of which probably have a lower production cost than the tccd IC's. Additionally many of the new computers today use DDr2 which requires a completely different manufacturing process and hence samsung must switch more production to DDr2 modules which are going to increase in demand while aging ddr1 will continue to expereince declining demand.

I also believe Samsung has something new in store which is supposed to appear pretty soon for DDR. I guess they feel they have something better than TCCD.

That would be nice. I've been looking for some 300mhz 2-2-2 ram :D

In the grand scheme of things, Samsung's F-TCCD sales account for less than .5% of DRAM chip sales. This isn't enough for them to justify continual manufacturing of this part because based on cost/production analysis, if they used the production capacity elsewhere(F-TCCD takes a lot more work to make), they would make more money. And, it is all about making money.
