I'm going to build a new rig. Itīs going to be a dual opteron 244 on a MSI K8T Master2-Far. I have started to read the manual and some customer reviews over this motherboard and I find that to have the memory working on dual channel 128 bits, you must have the four banks filled up with the same memory modules, if you just use 2 banks, the memory will work in single channel 64 bits. Here goes my question: If I install my OS (Windows XP pro) with just two banks (64 bits) will there be any problem if later on I install another two banks and have it on 128 bits? Would it be a better idea to make a new fresh install with the memory working in 128 bits?

Thanks for your comments.

It should be fine adding memory later and going dual channel...

Thank you, you already gave me some advise over a problem I had with my raid card in my KD7, I have already RMA it and I will see what happens.
