New duct dezign

I made this kind of duct today with two fans, side by side and got extra 1C off with 1 fan I had 3-4 C off and with two I have 4-5C off
I used two 80x25mm fans.

Here's the diagram:

Maybe you should take off the CPU fan, not only would it be quieter but you might be building up pressure between the fans because those 80mms can probably push a lot more air than the 60mm(unless the pipe is really long, that is, I would try it, though)

I did try it but the temp just rose in 2C°

You might also try reversing the flow, but leaving all three fans on. Out of curiosity, if you have RPM monitors on those, what happened to the RPMs when you took out the hsf?

Just got to de buttom of 48C on idle and 52-53 full load!!!!! That's 7C below just the HSF w/o the duct...

nihili: My 80mm fans are from old PSUs so they don't have the RPM monitoring, and the HSFs RPM w/o duct are ~3750 and w/ duct 3924RPM

Man, you should really get some better fans...I would recommend Panaflow, awesome air moving and virtually silent at all sizes.

I did something simular but used an ADDA 120MM fan (108 CFM)....
Cut a hole in the side of the case and made a duct so all the air would go over the CPU......
Droped CPU temps by 9C (T-bird 1.26) FOP heatsink (delta 38 just didnt cut it)

I have problems with getting brand name fans... I live in Israel and never seen any sites offering anything more than HSs and HSFs...
I'm pretty setisfied with the resaults 6-7C lower temp is great!!!

QUESTION....instead of trying all this why dont you at least geta a better heat sink and better fans....wtf is a green cooler.:eek:

Sounds promising Coolest...I have also built a duct some time ago, and it did really help my temps...
Go on like this..

I always thought Europe was bad concerning cooling equipment, but Israel seems to be even worse...And it´s quite hot over their, right?:D
