I just got my 6600GT today, did a fresh install of XP just a little while ago. What do I have to do to get the AGP bus to work at 8X ?? It is disabled right now.

I sent you a PM with the basic stuff like did you enable it at 8x in the bios etc. Plus I mentioned other options.
this happened to me before as well. what i did was reinstalled my chipset drivers and that fixed it immediately.

if its set correctly in bios it should install correctly the first time :D
otherwise change to 8x and re-install drivers..

I dont know what is wrong, I want to throw my computer against the wall. In the bios I can change AGP 3.0 speed from Auto to 8x/4x, but I CANNOT change AGP 2.0 speep at all, it is stuck on Auto, which leaves it on 0. Both the video card are new(had a 9800pro) and MB are new (had to RMA it b/c it died, got same one but revision 2.2 instead of 1.0) yet this is the same problem I had with the old stuff, so I assume it is my fault, but I dont know what I am doing wrong. The MB always has post code FF up on the little LED screen, I am so frustrated.
have you tryed changing in a ute like rivatuner?? my mobo is a 8x, but i've got a 4x card, so i can only use 4x, if your mobo and card support agp3 (8x) you should be able to set it, but if there is a mismatch, then it'll go as high as the oldest component will allow.
