Hi everyone, i am having major problems with battlefield vietnam. I am getting 28-33fps constantly in the game on dual p4 3.2ghz, 2gb of ram, and a radeon 9800xt (system in my sig) on a clean install of windows XP. It makes no difference if the resolution is 640x480, or if it is 1600x1200. I am running the latest omega drivers as well, and every other game runs just fine from ut2004 to half-life2/doom3. Is there some magical setting i'm missing? Because in my mind i hsould be able to run 1280x1024 with everything set on its highest setting no problem. Thank you in advance for any help.

What are your sound settings? I know if you choose the EAX, it can hurt performance pretty bad for some reason. Use the I think its called Miles 2D or something.

Are you using the latest BFV patch? They have fixed a lot of performance issues in their many patches.

Thanks for the replies. I have all the latest patches, and yes i was running EAX, but i have a soundblaster audigy 2 and it is hooked up into 5.1 logitech speakers so running it in miles 2d sound would kind of defeat the purpose of the speakers wouldnt it?

That's true, but have you tried disabling EAX to see if it changes anything?

I had the same problem with EAX, I like though but it causes a TON of lag. I game these (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/) a shot and now i can have EAX on and still play with out lag.
