View Full Version : problem 1.2ghz athlon posting at 1.0ghz

i just popped in my athlon and it posted at 1.0ghz and its a 1.2 what the heck is wrong my board suppoarts up to a 1.4ghz chip so i don't see what the problem is i overclocked the fsb to 112mhz cause thats the only kind i can do... its a 200mhz bus chip so whats wrong?? do i need to unlock it or something so that i can choose a multiplier of 12x? cause its at 10 right now and my duron is locked and i never bothered unlocking it and trying for a higher multiplier

put the multiplyer on 100x12

i can't i only have fsp options if i unlocked it would i see multiplier option??

where did you buy the cpu?
what does the bos say on it?
is it oem or retail?

i had a feeling it was a 1.0ghz oh well i will have to email the place i bought it from.. i don't know if i should complain too much tho cause i killed my 1.2ghz and voided the warranty in how i killed it so im just happy that they didn't look at it too careful and replaced it anyway
