hi first off i love reading the forum but rarley post but i have a problem that i can not figure out
i have a abit is7 with the following
2.8g p4 533mhz
2 sticks 512 kingston value ram ddr 400
nvida gforce 400 pci video
sb live sound card
powerplant relay card
2 western digital ide hdds
1 dvd roms 1 dvd burner
300 watt antec powersupply
watercooled processor and newly added chipsed cooler and custom made hdd water jacket

i have been using this rig for about 8 months at a low oc of about 3.1 and no problems.
last night i decided to install my chipset wb and hd cooler in the process i had a small leak while everything was off so i dried the mobo off with a rag and dissasembled it took it to the sink and dumped distilled water all over it and threw it in the oven on low for about 4 hours.
i came back got the board reassembled it plugged it back in and booted it all is good i went on about my bussiness about 1/2 hour later it mysteriously dies like some one pulled the plug so i try to re boot but nothing i decide to fix it in the morning.
next day i try to boot it up again nothing so i take out everyting but 1 ram stick and video card and try it nothing
so i go get my old mobo and put the video card and the powersupply from my rig thinking that one of thise are dead and it works so i go back to the abit and try again.... nothing arghh
i am not getting a post or anything i think that i fried thr mobo but why did it work after the leak and not now ?
what are some ideas or a process of elimnation i could use to rule all other things out ?

Sounds a little strange. Try to wash it off with isopropyl alcohol (90-95%), perhaps leave it in a shallow container over the night and then let it air dry for a while. Clean your APG and PCI slots. After that take a hair blower and start blowing on low heat. Maybe even change the battery, just in case.
If this doesn’t work then I think your mobo is dead. Cool luck

oh there is a few things i forgot to add i cleared the cmos many times and when i hooked everything back up the leds on the board light up just like normal a green light as soon as there is power from the psu and as soon as the power button is pressed the red led lights if the hds are plugged in they spin as do the roms
could my video card be intermintatly working ? i dont think that it worked the first time i put it in the old mobo but i did so many things i could have been mistaken
i will try yhe alcahol thing today and get back for the results

thanks i just plugged my speakers into the onboard sound and i get one long beep that repeats over and over
there is nothing in the manual about beeps in post that i can find
