View Full Version : Rivatuner OC help
I use rivatuner to OC my AGP 6600GT. I see alot of people with very high memory settings (1200+). My question is, when setting your memory that high, it shows a "!" next to the memory slider, then it always asks to test your new settings. Mine will never allow me to reach 1200, it will usually allow me only 1180 to pass. How do you guys get over 1200 and pass the test to apply the settings? I would like to know because I have yet to find the maximum memory setting on my video card, I know my core is about 560, that's where I get artifacts (green stuff flashing all over). But I have yet to see any other artifacts due to memory OC. Thx for the tips guys. Maybe it's a registry setting I have to change. Is coolbits more recommended for the 6600GT?

Just ignore the "!" and continue as usual.
I would like to, but when I hit the "test" button, it wont let me use the settings, tells me to "lower frequency"
got it figured out, 2 power user settings needed to be altered. EZ fix.

what are you up to now on ram?? what do you have for cooling on that badboy? id checkout www.stasisthermal.com for a 6600gt AGP cooler. they are the best out there. or pm consumer9000, as he sells them
been playing around a little, seems my barrier is about 555-560core, and about 1200-1210 with memory. Any higher I get artifacts on the core, but the memory doesn't give artifacts, the benchmark will just freeze up. I'm still using my stock heatsink. I'm guessing the temps get pretty hot, but I have no way of measuring since my card doesn't support the temp reading. I might start looking into cooling solutions, I read something on the zalman 700, but appears not to be able to cool the ram, just the core (bad fit, you would have to shave the heatsink or something). On other cards it seems to be fine.

you could get nibitor and edit your bios and then flash it, cuase all 6600gt cores support temp monitoring, some makers just removed the feature in the cards bioses. its not to hard to edit and flash a card. more then a few have done it here.

Which 2 settings?
rivatuner\NVIDIA\overclocking, change "disableinternalclocktest" to 1.
rivatuner\overclocking\global, change "disableclocktest" to 1.
And your done.
