After assembling a few AMD PCs, is time for Intel PC game! However, I am not sure about Intel Original Fan so I wanna ask some questions...

1, Intel Original Fan for Celeron800 is the same Intel Original Fan for P3933....so How much can my Celeron 800 overclock (at least!)

2, Theres a white square sticker thing underneath the Intel Original Fan.... whats that? and can i get rid of it and put Stars700 thermal grease?

don't use the original heatsink...it's garbage

and the pad under the heatsink is a thermal pad

use nail polish to remove it

i used a screwdriver that that scratched the base

and don't overclock with orginal heatsink
it's dangerous

Im running the original Intel HSF on my p3-450, its at 540 now and 44 degrees celsius average, it doesnt go up with load increase which is odd.... but it is definately the sensor on the CPU, as when i replaced old thermal compound with AS2 i didnt seat the HSF properly and temps rocketed to 60 celsius!

I have to disagree with sky. The stock Intel HSF is just fine for a non- or moderately-overclocked CPU. Intel chips just don't put out all that much heat. I got my Celeron 566 to 893 wih the stock HSF. I had to trade up to a FOP to get higher, but hey- 327mhz OC with stock fan is pretty good!:)

And yes you could scrape off that white goo square, if you want. I would.

If I were you I'd try to OC with the stock HSF, once that gets maxed out you can upgrade it if you want to OC even more. The stock fan nowadays is WAY more burly than the old one they shipped in the past. Thorw a good high-RPM fan on it nad it gets even better!:D
