I would hardly call 2 fps or less getting owned. Also at higher resolutions or with any real amount of aa/af used the 6800 pulls ahead. However I agree the xt is still a very good card, even a 9800 pro is certainly more than capable or playing all of todays games at acceptable resolutions.

if you want to seriously consider upgrading, perhaps you should be looking at the X800 series of cards for a more tangible performance boost?

I did and at 1280/1024 with 4xaa 8xaf the 6800gt is more than 20% ahead. If 2 fps is getting owned what do you call 12 fps? My point is not that the xt isn;t a good card but the 6800 gt hardly gets owned. :beer:

Yea its all good. :) Just be wary of such things. Only slip-up was during the FX series. For the most part the 6800GT handily beats the x800PRO in all games.

*dont mean to start a flame war, but get your facts straight*Indeed, if one looks at the Half-Life2 marks vs the Doom3 marks one can see that Nvidia works Opengl far better than ATi and ATi works D3D far better (especially with AF on) than Nvidia.

All in all the 6800U and X800XT PE are very comparible and parity is pretty much assured in pure game play with each taking marks in their forte.
