I currently have a PIII 1Ghz and im looking to buy a Thunderbird 1.4Ghz and i was wondering if this was a good m/b - CPU combo.

what are you planning on doing with the mobo and the t bird

I would wait untill a board comes out with the KT266A chipset. The KT266 chipset that the A7V266 has is a slow DDR performer. Also the new Palomino Athlons are to be shipped Oct. 9th, so I would definately wait.

the A7V266 rocks!

TBird1333 runs @ 157 x 10 100% stable!
Mushkin PC2100 (hand picked) runs on the lowest timings at this speed. Memorys score of around 740/950 are not slow!

I have used 166 fsb, but need to pay some attention to the North Bridge cooler for stabilerty.
This Mobo is no slouch, however the new KT266a chipset for this board would be even faster.
