I have a ASUS 8200 Deluxe, and I'm going to OC it a bit. I've done some research into the area, but I can't find a straight answer as to what the max temps are, and what are good temps etc. Right now these are my temps; Chipset 46C RAM 34C.
How high can I go with the temps before it starts getting dangerous?

yeah... I know. Just thought there were some "max temps" for the GPU.

You know I've never heard any temps myself when I once asked. I had a Geforce 2 GTS and decided I just wanted it to be cooler. Never took temps before messing with it but I lapped the sucker and put a Blorb and Artic Silver on it. Couldn't really get temps from the GPU so I just put a probe on the back of the card. Idle temps from the back of the card were around 55C. One person claimed that they had the exact same setup and they had idle temps in the 20C but I think they were just getting their temperature from the wrong place. I wasn't happy with the 55 though so I tried lapping again. Wanted to take it down to the copper like several others had done. Well I never managed to get it down to the copper but I killed it anyway somehow. I've replaced it with a Leadtek Geforce II GTS PRO which has a hardware sensor with it. It shows idle temperatures right now at 55C and the probe on the back of the card shows 40C. I've seen temps go up to 66 on the GPU and 50 from the back and this is all with the stock stuff that came with the card. I'm a bit hesitant to take off the stock stuff and replace it with a Blorb since I think the Blorb might just be garbage. Oh well. I guess you should just do what others do and not get caught up in actual temps so much as it will drive you nuts. Just push it until it starts to act up and then drop it down a notch.
