why waste that much money on agp at this time? its obsolete. pci-e is the future AND its actually cheaper. ati agps cost more for some reason. you might think about getting a pci-e mobo and a pci-e ati video card at a price close to an agp card.

x800xl it is.
Its a b-day gift for my brother. He currently running on a 2.8Ghz pentium. I guess the x800xl is the best choice for him now.

Thats ridiculous. This card will last him ALONG TIME. By the time he does need to upgrade, he'll be able to buy a system 2-3 times faster at the same price as now.

I have to agree with you. As of today, its my understanding that current games don't really benefit from PCI-E compare to AGP. Also, SLI is also a total overkill. I spent close to $1500 for my current setup. I only need to spend $300 and my brother's PC will be running close to mine. Of course I got the ultimate gaming CPU, the all mighty o/c A64. Thats $1200 in difference now. If i had a choice, I should have just sticked with my 2600 mobile and get a nice vid card. I'm still feeling the heartache for my $1500.
