What is the normal temperature for my cpu? I have got a 1000mhz T-bird @1100. In the bios the hardware monitor says that the temperature is around 70'C when the computer has been on for at least 2 hours or so, but in windows it says the temperature is at 92'C. My mobo is a gigabyte GA-7ZXR VIA KT133. I've also got a Globalwin FOP38. Are these temperatures normal? Or is there a problem with my hardware monitoring software (It's the one supplied with the mobo called Gigabyte Utility manager)?
Thanx for the help..

Those temps are scary. Let's hope someone else that has this mainboard chimes in on this thread!

i've taken the side of my case off and put an ordinary house fan at the side to blow some air inside. It's brought the temps down to around 48'C ish. Does water cooling help a lot? A mate of mine suggested, buying a cheap airconditioner and to pipe the cold air into the system? Would that work?
thanks for the replys

did you use thermal compound or a pad?
I've got 37c under heavy load and I'm using just air. Water should help but 70c or 92c makes me believe that either your temp monitor programs aren't giving you the right info or something ain't set up right. I'd try re-seating the sink on the chip, maybe lap it too.
