View Full Version : FarCry Crashes
The Unforgiven

I have achieved rock solid stability with the stats in my signature on this rig. I run UT2K4 at 1280x1024 with every setting on max. It runs like a dream, fast as hell and beautiful to boot. But I only have issues with FarCry. It doesn't matter if I o/c the card and proc, or just leave it stock, it will crash. If I touch the ingame brightness slider, it crashes instantly. Or if I play it for about 20-30 minutes it just locks up and crashes. By crash I don't mean that the game crashes, I mean that the computer crashes, and then when I reboot it, Windows will send an error report that says my ATI driver has failed and caused the computer to crash.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just uninstall you're ATI drivers .Then try the Omega Drivers for ATI.Or some of the modified drivers from GURU3D.com. For you're ATI.

I did. The issue doesn't change with either the Stock ATI drivers, nor the Omegas. Same message with either driver. I think I also have some setting wrong in the Omega Drivers. On the 3dmark and UT2k4 loading screens it is incredibally blurry, and looks awful.

What are the temps of your X800 / 3.2e under load?

The 3.2 runs at 48-50C under load at 3.8, and I don't know how to check the X800. I did turn the GPU fan speed up to 100% in ATITool though.

That the DNA drivers from GURU3D.com work really well for ATI cards.
