I believe that it would be the best place for this question. it is Internet, Networking, and server stort of stuff..

I had picked up several mobos for my Big Box Project, these will apparently boot only through RPL instead of PXE. Now, the various and sundry info from VIA say the NIC is reprogrammable and can use PXE, But the mobo and VIA (yea VIA) say that this capability is locked out. and the Boot Prom is not rewriteable. :bang head

The Mobo's are the VIA M789CG V3.0A
Lan card is using the VIa Rhine II Drivers on a Lan on Motherboard setup.
Chipset said its a VT6103. :eh?:

since the EEProm is Deactivated and all VIA's own utilities cant change that,
nor will Via or PCChips respond to questions. I am wondering If there are any LTSP type applications or patches that will allow me to boot diskless using RPL.
I have been RTF'ing manuals and webs for days and cant find any real info in this.

Any Help would be appreciated, Thanks

:eh?: No ideas?

Nothing I tried has worked, I know it can. It does with the use of some Novell software/servers, But I am unable to find any Linux resources for this problem. :bang head
