Add *70 to your dial up number...there should be a place for it in your dialup properties.

That just one of the things I love about my new cable internet service. I had dailup for years cause it was'nt available in my area. I would get disconnected while downloading, gaming everything.

this is pretty oldschool BUT as I remember you can edit your modem string to help with that- besides adding a " *70,, " to your dialing number, look at your modem init string- if there is a value of S, try increasing the value by 50 or so. I don't remember precisely what is does, tho- it's a delay in milliseconds for the something-or-other. I'd check my string now but I;m online with it:D:D

Call waiting block isnt installed on a regular phone service, thats yet another thing they charge you for.

to view your string depends on how you dial- should be an option in the Dial-up-networking area, under properties. Honestly, this was a trick I sort of remember using in Win3.1, I don't even know if Win9x even uses a modem init string anymore. Lemmee play around and see if I can find it.

ask your phone company for the code to disable call waiting...or when you subscribed they should have given you a little card with all the codes like activate/disable call waiting, call blocking, 3 way calling.....etc
