Hi,
I have a AMD 1gig (266fsb) cpu in a abit kt7a mobo with 386 pc 133 ram and i want to overclocked my cpu to 1.2gig
i have red some of the overclocking guides and its says change the fsb!!
WEll i looked in my bios and the things i found are
x7.5
133/33

does that mean anything to anyone??

i changed the muliplyer to 8.5 from 7.5 and there was no difference.

I also tryed changing the 133/33 to 155/something and my system wouldnt boot up so i reset bios!!

Plz help where am i going wrong?

First, make sure your cpu is unlocked. If it isn't, you can only change the fsb. There are many helpful articles on unlocking your chip.

Looks like your CPU clock mulitplier is locked. Try the pencil trick to unlock it, read about it the the OC guide. If you don't want to do the pencil deal, try to raise your FSB from 133/33 to 140 or 145. 155 is too high thus your system locks.

7.5 = multiplier (seems to be locked)
133 FSB
33 PCI BUS at 1/4 of FSB

You might at first want to unlock your CPU, using conductive ink or a pencil to connect the level 1 bridges...
This will let u change your multiplier

The FSB can be changed as you attempted, but 155 seems to be a bit to much for the begin, start with something like 140 and see if this works...the 155 FSB would make your CPU run 1162 Mhz
:D. Thatīs not impossible, but will require some good cooling and most likely an increase in core voltage...

At that high FSBīs you do also need very good ram, check if you have...You might also set your ram timings to slow settings at first and increase them afterwards, so you can be sure that your CPU can stand the oc and that instabilities which might occur later are caused by your new, higher ram timings..

Hope that helps!
