If I use a pelt with the watercooling, will the results be anything significant, and is it worth even attempting?

I have a 72w pelt here, but dont know anything bout pelt cooling. Im trying to do this on a visiontek geforce3.

The waterblock I have has 4 holes to use to mount onto the card, but the copper coldplate I have is a little bigger than the waterblock, and I cannot mount it using the holes...without drilling holes into the plate, which I dont have access to tools to do so...what else could I do?

Also, condensation is a factor I hear..is there any other materials that I need to prevent it? Any articles for a COMPLETE newb? Dun recommend for me NOT to do it, because Im here to do so, and I will need your guidence, because I cannot afford a wrong move and damaging my geforce3.

Is there any way to buy a waterblock/coldplate that will just fit up with the holes in the card? I was under the impression that this one would, but I reckon I got trolled on that deal, as well as supposedly receiving some stuff to help with condensation.

Please help the lowly newbie :)

I would just go with water cooling the card because you dont get much more out of it with the pelt unless you mess with the voltage

you also have to find a way of powering the pelt wich can be hard to do;)

I will be upping the voltage, and I think I got enough power for the peltier.

I thought about going pelt on my gf2 ultra but thin I thought

"it would realy suck if I got condensation on my brand new $350 card that rox right now"

so Im not going pelt anymore and just water
wich should be more thin enough cooling compacity:)

I'm 55W pelting it until I can get myself a waterblock, then it's onto watercooling the pelt!

I have peltierized & watercooled 3 Geforce cards so far, a GF2pro and 2 GF3's. In each case I gained about 40MHz over the maximum air cooled speed. The volt mod will get another 15-20MHz on top of that.
My current card an Asus V8200 is running 24/7 at 280MHz core with the peltier but no volt mod yet.

You dont need a cold plate because the gpu core is about the same size as the pelt. I tried with and without a cold plate and the temps are lower without. You will need to insulate all around the gpu and on the back of the card behind the gpu. As long as you do a good job with the insulation you should have no trouble. I've been running water/pelt cooled gfx for nearly a year without any problem.

I did an article you can read here: http://www.overclockers.com/tips585/

LATE BREAKING NEWS!! www.dangerden.com are just about to release a neat looking block designed just for the Geforce card complete with the correct mounting holes.
