i was on my box today and when i turned it off, i left the room like i always do... when i came back, the cpu was still on. WTF?? i tried to power down with the power switch on the front of my case, but that didn't work. so i flipped the switch on the back of my psu to cut power. after everything wound down (drives and fans and stuff) i applied power to the PSU only via the switch on the back. my whole computer came on... again WTF??? i unplugged the mobo and tried the power off/ then on again via swotch on back... same result, all fans come on, and drives spool up. i unplug just about everything from the psu and try it all over again. same thing. that's when i notice the difference in color on the led's on the back plane where you make your adjustments. being color blind i looked at those 10 or 15 times before i noticed a difference in color between the greenand yellow/orange or whatever it is. i whip out the DMM and test the 12V rail , since that's the one that's off. and it's off by A LOT at max rotation (max power) on the screw, i get a whopping 8.44Volts... on my 12V line. all the way down, it goes to around 7.5V so it seems to be adjusting correctly, but it doesn't seem to be getting the right voltage to begin with. i pm the ocz reps here, and then i find a 800 number in the memory section, so i give them a call. i explain the above and am asked to unplug the unit and let it stand for 2 hours. then i need to plug it back in and see what happens. the tech suspected a power surge or something, but i've got my hardware on a surge arrestor and then on a surge protector powerstrip. AND while this alleged surge went through my hardware, i was in the living room watching a movie with my wife and neither of us noticed anything that would indicate a surge of any kind. so it's been two hours and i just tried my psu... no dice. this thing is only 6 weeks old. my enermax form 2002 never had a problem. anyone have any input? i am still waiting to hear back from either steveocz or seanomatic... this sucks. i'm getting a new mobo on mon prob and i won't have a psu to test it with... i guess it doesn't matter now that i think about it since i don't have the cpu yet anyways... this still sucks. i hate my wife's lappy....
