i bought this card a few days ago, and today i went and got a few tweaking progs to see what i can do with it. well.....both rage3d and radeon tweaker say that the default clock speed on my card is 198/198. now.....i thought that the radeon 64mb ddr vivo was shipped at 183/183......is this some kinda special version or something? and if it is, does it mean that this one can oc higher?

Crank it up see what it will do before you get artifacts, I think you should be able to get 210/210. You know I have the same card , but have not tried to clock it up yet.

yeah its nice.....im goin ati from now on. i came from an AIW 128 pro, the 3d was not leading edge....but all the other features made up for it. i got a radeon VE 3 weeks ago, to find out it ran on a mobile radeon core with no t&l(although it would be a great work station card for cheap)....so took that back and got this. awesome card, and im so glad it has VIVO....ill make big use of that.

you know the best part? ATI is canadian, and as a canadian...its nice to see a canadian company playing in the big league. top spot in graphics boards belongs to both ATI and nvidia right now.

The reason your core/memory is at 198 is 'cos you have an Radeon SE.

There are 4 different versions of the Radeon 64.

1. OEM - 6ns - 166/166.

2. Retail - 6ns - 183/183.

3. Retail - 5.5ns - 183/183.

4. Retail - 5ns - 198/198 (SE, Second Edition)

Needless to say the faster memory clocks higher.

That explains why I got a completely clean 234/234 overclock on my card and why it also came at 198/198 default...

I use powerstrip, available through the link in my signature below.

Well I Installed powerstrip guys and checked my clock speed out. Turns out I got a 64 DDR card with 183/183, so how high you guys think I can go?

Quizno, I bought at Futureshop as well but youi got the better deal, LOL. Is there any marking on the Radeon card itself to say whether it is a SE card?? Is the reading shown in powerstrip definitely correct?/ I was hoping I got a newer version with higher clock speed, oh well guess we gotta see what it will do now. Guess you learn something new every day!!!

Is powerstrip the best of the tweaking progs for the Radeon?? How do I actually use it, to change the core and memory so they are asynchronous??
