I'm looking for the best card in gaming for headphones. I know it would be the audigy 2 zs but would the EAX be any good for headphones? What would use the headset to its full potential? I'm getting a sennheiser pc150.

EAX is a gimmick to me.

audigy 2 zs isnt the bets card i dont think, you have other options - EAX to me to is a gimmick, nothing exceptional to it,

Well I agree with them about the AV710. I just sold my Audigy 2 Zs for the AV710. The EAX has its benefits because I've found environmental sounds better with it but for the money, AV710 takes the cake. But in all seriousness you do really need to test out the EAX to be sure of whether it makes a difference to you or not.

As for headphones, I use the Sony EX71SL's. I've read the Seinheissers are fairly good.

why do you think EAX is a gimmick? Most of the games that support it sound so much better w/ it turned on

EAX is sort of a gimmick. The way Creative pushes it on the market makes it seem very much a gimmick, but it does have many benefits. Not all games take advantage of EAX very well. I recall the Ghost Recon games using it on a superb level. At the very least, for most games it will allow you to distinguish direction better with your headphones. It may not create a very real 3D image but at least you can tell if you're getting shot at from behind.
