Hey, i'm just wandering if it matters if you use PC100, or PC133. I would think that there is, but then again, they are so similar that I'm not sure. Please let me know before I order the wrong type of ram :) thx!

If you would tell me for what kind of system you are going to use the ram, I could help you!
Generally speaking I would recommend good brand PC133 Cas2 ram!

emachines 667ir with a Trigem anneheim3 Motherboard. I know PC133 is faster, but will it work if the suggested kind is PC100. Let me know, Thanks! :)

What CPU do u use? 100 or 133 Mhz FSB?
If 133, is there an option in your bios to run the ram at FSB minus PCI speed?
If not, your chances are not too high to get the Ram running stable....But give it a Try!

ok, I will have to use PC100 then, thanks!

No, no, I just saw from you other post, that you are using a celeron processor...Both types of ram will be fine!
I got you wrong at first. I thought you wanted to use PC 100 ram in a FSB 133 system.

If you can get 133 at the same price as 100 or know you plan on upgrading and keeping the RAM then just grab the 133. The RAM will only operate at the same speed as your FSB so if your FSB is only 100Mhz then your 133 RAM will only run at 100. But if you plan on upgrading some time and get a faster chip that runs on a faster FSB then you'll save yourself a few bucks not having to go out and buy more RAM since the chances of getting 100 to work at 133 is slim. Wish I had thought that far enough ahead when I bought stuff. Course RAM is so incredibly cheap right now.
I do believe I've heard somewhere that some MBs let you run your RAM independent of the FSB speed meaning you could have a 100Mhz FSB and still run your RAM at 133 but I don't know nothing about that.

Yeah, my mobo lets you run your ram at FSB-PCI =66 and FSB+PCI = 133, Quite a nicé feature :)

That's just downright spiffy there. Wish I had something like that.
If you could go PC133, then if you want to upgrade later you already have the RAM. From what is posted here all memory should be "downward" compatible. I have a P// 400 100 FSB, and i'm running PC133 no problame-o.

Ohhhhh, well, My fsb is only 66 mhz. So I guess PC133 wouldn't matter then. So I should just get PC100 then, right? I guess that is right. let me know, thanks!

Well it all depends on price really. If their isn't a big price difference then just get the 133. It will save you money in the long run if you decide you want to upgrade to a chip that runs on 133 FSB and you already had the RAM for it. Not sure where you are planning on getting your RAM but I've been getting mine from www.crucial.com and I'm pretty sure the difference in price between the 2 types is negligible.
