As some of you know I'm trying to get my GeForce 3 Asus 8200 Deluxe card to work as it should. I have now decreased my FSB from 153 MHz to 140 MHz, and everything seems to be working allright. all the glitches running over the screen all the time is gone anyway. (except that when I'm testing my "High Polygon Count" in 3DMark2001 the dragons have lots of wierd looking lines sticking out of their wings.)
Why do I have to decrease my FSB to get it to work? it just makes no sense. (and what about those things sticking out of the dragons wings??)

I KNOW it is not a driver prob... I know the temps are ok... nothing seems to be physically wrong with the card. what to do??

P.S.
is 6648 a good or bad score in 3DMark2001?

Go to the classifieds section and sell it, or RMA it like I did mine, get a brand new one back, and sell that one online (at one of those auction places ;)).

It was a waste of money to begin with. if all you wanted was a better 3dMark 2001 score and a couple FPS more in games, I could be creative with Photoshop for $20 and help you tweak your other video card to get the difference in frame rates.

My guess is the card didn't like running with the AGP bus being that far out of spec. The weird lines almost sounds like artifacts. Do you have the vid card overclocked?

Awww, Pinky must be jeolous. LOL.

that actually worked... thx alot funnyperson. Even got a new and nicer score in 3DMark2001; 6890. Why can't I run it at 4x AGP btw.?

aww man, i was hoping youd become disgruntled and send it to me:)........good luck with your functional geforce3, after a while of burn in see if you can get it back up to 4x, i think maybe iut just couldnt handle the speed of 4*(153/2).....who knows, all that matters is that your stuff works....

Higher score at 2X??? How could that make any sense!? I feel the need for some benchmarks! Tomorrow, though...
