View Full Version : Does the P4 run hotter then the Athlon?

hi guys i have been watercooling for a few months now and i have been noticing that people that are running athlon's overclocked are running just as cool or even cooler then i am with a p4 1.7 @1955mhz 1.85v, i am also using a digital doc to check my temperature..my system is in my sig but it just makes me wonder does the p4 run as hot as an athlon? i know i have good contact, i am using thermal paste,i have 2 120mm fans on my cube radiator..any help or comments are greatly appreciated!

P4 runs colder than an Athlon, heh, in fact the P4 temp is capped.

wow i wonder why mine is running so warm then :( must be because my ambient temp because i see ppl with athlon 1.2@1.56 or sometting like that with the same temps as i am with the same setup as i have

Are you using a peltier? Those will drive down CPU temps if you don't overload them, and they'll give that watercooling rig a real workout.

nope not using a peltier.. maybe i should?but if i got one how many watts would i need and what would i power it with?an old power supply?

what watercooling kit do you use
because my temps are even worse with watercool than aircooled
