Everytime I try to install Office Easy CD creater or anything I keep getting this error message:

Error 1606. Could not access network location<Commom Administrative tools>.AllUsers\.
Someone told me to add a value in the reg. like this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Ensure that the Common Admistrative Tools entry is correct.

Mine reads: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools

And I did but still nothing, I'm running windows xp pro on a single computer not on a network.
HELP

This error is caused by an incorrect entry in the Common Administrative Tools Value Name.

To resolve the problem:

Use the Registry Editor and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders.

Double-click the Common Administrative Tools Value Name, a REG_EXPAND_SZ data type, and set the data value to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools.

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders.

Verify that the Common Administrative Tools Value Name, a string data type, is set to the expanded equivalent of %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools, normally C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools.

Now Exit the Registry Editor.

Shutdown and restart your computer.

Hope that helped.

For the benefit of anyone else who might experience this, I had a very similar issue but with this error:

"Error 1606 Could not access network location %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Recent"

I was able to resolve it by following directions on this page:
