I'm wanting to rework my hard disk system. I have 2 X 200GB sata drives i would like to use as a mirror for my data storage. I would then like to pick up a single 74GB raptor for an OS and games partitions. My mobo has only 2 sata ports supporting raid 0 or raid 1.

Can anyone recommend a sata controller for the raptor? Or would i be better off running the raptor from the onboard silicon image sata controller and putting the mirror on a sata raid controller? Any suggestions ? Which will be faster, onboard sata or PCI sata card ?

Thanks,

J.

bumpage..

No recomendations at all ? I'm just looking for an inexpensive sata controller. Also curious of the speed on the onboard silicon image controller vs. a pci card. It doesn't even need raid capability if the raptor is going to be run from it.
