View Full Version : annoying airbubbles....
i have the 5.25 bay resivoir(from frozencpu.com), and every min my pump sucks a bunch of air bubles from the top of the resivoir, the top of the resivoir is open, and im letting it get the air out, but the top is countersunk, so the place where the fillport is on the resivoir, is actually below the top of it, and that allows for air to be trapped in the resivoir, so it creates a nasty cycle..... what can i do to stop this?!?
i was wondering maybe adding a small t-line? im open to any help. thanks all!

you filled the res to the top right?
you filled the res to the top right?
as much as i can, b/c the fillport drops below what i can fill it to. if i try and fill it too much it'll just flow out even though theres air in the system.
ditch the bay res if posible and get a T or a standing res with better barb placement  just some sugestions
i have the same res but i resolved the problems by letting it bleed and then refilling each time the water level went down , then only screwed one screw into the bay and tilted the res so the bubbles were not near the inlet/outlet barbs and more near the fillport

i can try tilting it, but im cramped for space there, fan controller above the resivoir and then the bottom of the cage is right below it, last night i forked over 20$ for a swiftech resivoir from frozencpu, it has a way better design, the fillport is blantly the highest point, and there would have to be great pressure to get the air back into the pump, so i hope this will solve my issue, but i will try and see what i can do with titling it for the time being, thanks again peeps!

well, i took your suggestion and ran with it, and it works perfectly and the resivoir is secure as can be thanks man! look for my post on sunday night when i post pictures and the entire story of my new w/cled rig

I just got this res for my first setup, and man, I can't figure out how to get all the bubbles out hehe. Uhm, actually, its like a foam. Yes, I followed the directions, and yesm, i filled it to the max. I even spent almost an hour, using another psu, and just cycling the pump on/off just to remove all the air. Turn everything back on, and within 30 seconds, and I can see huge bubbles throughout the system.
It doesnt seem to be hurting temps though, as its maintains a constant 32-35*C in a room with 3 other boxes running. It does however, look like I'm running old milk if i turn the UV lights off though. :P
:EDIT:
First water system, and not 1 leak! W00t!! :santa:
see if you can take the rear 2 screws out and tilt the back of the resivoir down (nozzle side) and that will put the bubbles at the front of the resivoir, and make the pump not suck any air, im gonna add alittle bit of prestone over the next day or so to make sure i dont get algae or anything else in my system.
