TufelKinder writes "From Law.com: 'In the largest fine ever obtained by San Francisco antitrust prosecutors, a Korean company has agreed to plead guilty and [0]pay $185 million for its role in a conspiracy to drive up the price of computer chips.' Micron and Infineon have also been fined for their role in the scheme." From the article: "It's the third-largest fine of its kind in the United States, and it could be just a preview of even bigger penalties. The far-reaching computer chip investigation, which alleges wrongdoing from 1999 through 2002, affects thousands of consumers."

We knew this was happening several years ago. Ram glut, ram "shortages", skyrocketing prices...

There was just no clear proof of it, but we knew it was happening...

Very convenient for RAM Prices to skyrocket right after an Earthquake in Taiwan (which did nothing......)

i knew about this like 8 or 9 months ago, and i remember a post saying youll be able to get a good stick of pc3200 512mb for 45 bucks with in 3 months, and lo and behold he was right, ram prices dropped like rocks, and a stick of twinmos non sp, which is still very good, is now only 45 bucks. i expect the trend to continue

:D as long as there are some legit companies out there then i think, or would liek to that ram prices wont go so high unless some major catastraphy happens in Asia.
